It was really pleasing to witness Joe Knox, another PRUFC graduate from our hugely successful junior set-up, make his debut for the First XV off the bench as replacement hooker against Doncaster Phoenix last weekend.
Coach Craig Fawcett was impressed: ‘Joe’s a strong lad and coped well in the set-piece. He also had a couple of good carries. It was great to be able to give him a chance as it follows a number of stand-out performances in the Second XV’.

Joe has played for Pontefract since his first year of High School, from our Under 11s through to colts. After a couple of years at Bishop Burton College, Joe now attends Leeds Beckett University where he is studying Sports and Exercise Therapy and hopes to forge a career in professional team sports as a physiotherapist.

Most members will know Joe, who’s a familiar face and has been part of the fabric of the Club for almost a decade. What you may not know is that, outside rugby, he was introduced to country music by his girlfriend, Melanie, who was born in Texas, and his current Spotify play-list features Luke Combs. Check it out.
